W Volleyball: Loses in Upset Sweep by the Dons

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Golden West volleyball team was swept at home by the Santa Ana College in Orange Empire Conference play. 

The Dons were able to win Friday night 25-16, 25-21, and 25-22 to earn their first conference win of the season. The Rustlers just couldn't find their rythym within in the sets to take the momentum away from Santa Ana. 

Jennifer Juarez led Golden West with 14 digs and 7 kills, Madison Holmes was right behind Juarez with 13 digs and 4 kills. Setter Sophia Peterson was having another great match recording 30 assists until an injury forced her out of the second set. Setter Megan Brazelton didn't miss a beat entering the match in the second set recording 37 assists. Unfortunately, the Rustlers couldn't play clean volleyball as the gave up 18 points in errors made. 

NEXT: Golden West will host Saddleback College on Wednesday, October 10th at 6pm.
