W Volleyball: Succumb to the Tigers in Sweep

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Rustlers succumb to the tenacious Riverside City College Tigers Wednesday night 25-17, 25-18, 25-16 in straight sets 3-0.

With three weeks left in a injury riddled season for Golden West, they are still hopeful that they will find their rythym and put together a strong finish. Middle blocker Jennifer Juarez was sidelined from the match after a thumb injury during warm-ups left the Rustlers looking for a replacement. Opposite Nikol Powers did all she could as she led the team with two solo blocks along with five kills and teammate Abigail Botana tallied one block solo and two block assists.

Mia Lara as stepped up to take the setters role after Sophia Peterson suffered an ankle sprain a couple weeks back and is eyeing a return in the final week of the season. Lara recorded a team high 16 assists while teammate Madison Holmes recorded a team high 22 digs.

Golden West will travel to rival Orange Coast on Friday, October 26th for a 6pm start time.
