Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Golden West College volleyball team remained undefeated in a four set win against visiting Santa Barbara City College Friday night 26-24, 25-17, 24-26, 25-13. 

Another slugglish start for the Rustlers as they had to battle throughout the first set to earn a 26-24 set win. Outside hitter, Madison Holmes did all she could as she led Golden West with 14 kills on the night and a .316 hitting percentage. 

The Rustlers looked a little more comfortable in the second set as setter, Shayna Johnson found her rythym to help set up her hitters with 37 assists. Looking for their first three set victory sweep on the season, the Rustlers couldn't quite close it out as they fell in the third set 26-24. The ladies made sure to leave no doubt in the fourth set as they cruised to a 25-13 match clinching set win. 

Outside hitter, Abigail Botana tallied 9 kills and opposite Sierra Emil also recored 9 kills to aide in the Ruslter victory. Libero, Mia Lara led Golden West with a 22 dig performance on the night to keep the wins coming. 

NEXT: Golden West will host Cerritos College at 5pm on Wednesday, September 18th to wrap up their non-conference schedule.
