Women's Water Polo Remain Relentless

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West (14-0, 4-0) remains undefeated as they met both Santa Ana (1-11,0-5) and Long Beach College (13-5, 4-1) Wednesday night. The women of water polo seem to be unstoppable as they continue to conquer each opponent they face. After defeating the Dons 23-5, the ladies made their way to Long Beach to win 14-9.

The Rustlers started the game against Santa Ana scoring 4 and allowing 2 goals in the first quarter. The Rustlers let loose in the second quarter finding the goal 6 times, and giving the Dons 1. After the half, Golden West turned up the offense and went on to score 13 more goals in the second half.

Out of the water, and on the road, the ladies made their way to Long Beach where they stayed fired up from the win just 3 hours earlier. The Rustlers kept Long Beach out of the net for the first quarter and scored 5 goals. Golden West was 4-5 on 6 x 5 against Long Beach; LBCC was 2-6 on 6 x 5 and 1/1 on a penalty shot.

Attacker, Melissa Bergesen (West Jordan, UT/Kearns HS)lead Golden West in scoring for the night with 5 on the Dons and 6 on Long Beach. Margaret Dix (Mt. Prospect, IL/Prospect HS) found the net 4 times in the Santa Ana game, and Alexandria Loveless (Long Beach, CA/Wilson HS) scored 3 against Long Beach.
