Fullerton, Calif. - Golden West's Women's Water Polo team was crowned the 2013 Orange Empire Conference Champions on Saturday, November 9th after defeating Riverside 12-8. This back to back championship is a milestone in the undefeated team's legacy as they finish their second season without a single loss. 

An aggressive Riverside entered the water, and did their best to take down their conference rivals. The two teams knotted the score multiple times during the game, never allowing a significant lead for either team. Sophomore Melissa Bergesen drew 5 ejections from the Tigers during their best attempts to halt the seasoned player. Alexandria Loveless found her offensive stride, scoring four goals for Golden West, along with Megan Craig adding three of her own. 

The women won't have long to revel in their victory, as they will most likely face Riverside again in the playoff game for the SoCal Championships. The 2 days of play will take place at Cerritos College on November 15th and 16th.
