Women’s Water Polo Claims the #2 Seed for OEC Championships

Riverside, Calif. – The Golden West (20-4, 5-1) women's water polo team fell to Riverside City College (25-1, 6-0) 7-2 in an Orange Empire Conference show down for the No. 1 seed.

Golden West battled Riverside to a 1-1 tie at the end of the first quarter before trailing 3-1, at halftime. Sophomore Julie Luna netted the long goal in the first quarter for the Rustlers. The second half didn't go as planned and the Rustlers found themselves trailing 5-2 at end of the third quarter. Isabella Magno netted the Rustlers goal in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 3-2. Riverside would go on to score 4 unanswered goals to win the match and the #1 seed.

Next: Golden West the No. 2 seed will play the No. 6 seeded Santa Ana College  9AM on Thursday, November 3at Saddleback College to open the Orange Empire Conference Championships.
