Mission Viejo, Calif. – No. 2 seeded Golden West (22-5, 7-2) women's water polo sunk Orange Coast College (11-10, 4-5) 10 to 2 for a third place finish at the 2016 Orange Empire Conference Championships.

After a slow first quarter of play where both teams traded goals, Golden West's offense finally kicked into gear as April Storm Alvarez, Isabella Magno, and Evelyn Wang each netted a goal to build a 4-2 lead at halftime. The second half was all Golden West as they would hold Orange Coast scoreless. Magno would net three goals and Julie Luna would net two goals to pace the Rustler offense in the second half to best Orange Coast 10-2.

Next: Golden West received a #4 seed in the upcoming SoCal Championships being held at Golden West College's aquatic center November 10-12. Golden West will play the winner of #5 Orange Coast College vs. #12 San Diego Mesa at 10:15AM Friday 11/11.
