W Water Polo: Rustlers Drop First Conference Match

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Golden West women's water polo team dropped their Orange Empire Conference match of the season 17-10 to the Fullerton Hornets. 

The first half of the match was a back forth battle between the two teams as the end of first quarter score showed Fullerton ahead 2-1. More of the same in the second quarter as the half came to a close at 6-5 with Fullerton in the lead. Kourtney Pyle netted three of her team high six goals in the first half and Brogan Stout accounted for the other two goals scored in the first half for the Rustlers. 

The Rustlers came out in the second half a different team, Fullerton was able to capitalize on it in the third quarter to take a comfortable 13-7 lead. Fullerton kept on the gas pedal in the fourth quarter to out score the Rustlers 11-4 in the second half en route to their 17-10 victory. Kylie Stablein scored the Rustlers two goals in the third quarter and Pyle netted her other three goals in the fourth for Golden West. 

NEXT: Golden West will travel to Riverside on Wednesday, October 17th for a 3pm start.
